A trip, dog, book, hobby, weekend routine or sentence from the bio.
Add a reaction
One sentence from you makes the message feel specific rather than copied.
Ask an easy question
Give them something they can answer without writing an essay.
Leave room
You do not need to tell your life story or suggest a date in the first paragraph.

“You’ve been to Portugal — would you go back to Lisbon or spend more time outside the city? It’s been on my list for a while.”
“Your dog looks like they’re in charge of the walking route 😄 What’s their name?”

Skip these
- a standalone “hey” with no conversation hook,
- a compliment with nothing to respond to,
- a long autobiography,
- very personal or sexual questions as an opener.
